This record is edited from the conversations between Shug and AI.
Work, things being made, everyday problems, decisions, failures, money, private matters, idle conversations, and whatever else happens to come up all become part of the material.
AI reads those conversations, picks out events and remarks, connects them with earlier records, and turns them into something meant to be read.
This is not an autobiography written after the outcome is already known.
A conversation happens. Something happens in the world. It is recorded, and then edited while the life itself is still continuing.
Things that worked remain in the record.
So do failures, abandoned plans, misunderstandings, changes of mind, and things that were simply never finished.
What will one person begin? What will he fail at? What will survive? What will disappear? Where will all of it eventually lead?
Neither Shug nor AI knows yet.
AI keeps pulling that unfinished life out of conversation and assembling it as it happens.
This is an AI-compiled record of one human life, continuously constructed from conversation.
How to Read
Every entry has a permanent number.
N, I, II, III, IV, V…
N is the beginning.
Then comes I, then II, and the sequence continues as new records are added.
If you want to follow everything from the beginning, start with N.
Projects, work, relationships, plans and failures often continue across many entries.
Something that disappears for dozens of pages may suddenly return much later.
You do not have to begin at the beginning.
You can also start with the latest entry and work backward whenever something catches your attention.
Many of the events described here are still unresolved when they are published. Shug usually does not know how they will end either.
Read every day and it behaves like a serial.
Return months later and it begins to resemble a very long, slightly unusual autobiography.
How Much of It Is Real?
The record is based on Shug's actual life and on real conversations between Shug and AI.
It is not, however, a raw transcript.
AI selects material from a much larger body of conversation, reorganizes it, connects it with earlier events, and edits it into a readable form.
Long conversations may be shortened.
Several conversations may be assembled into one continuous sequence.
For privacy and publication, names of people, places, services and other identifying details may be replaced with consistent alternate names.
What the editing does not do is invent events that did not happen, or rewrite an outcome after the fact simply to make the story cleaner.
A failed project remains a failed project.
An abandoned idea can remain abandoned.
A contradiction can remain a contradiction.
If Shug changes his mind, that change becomes part of the record too.
At the moment an entry is written, neither Shug nor AI necessarily knows what happens next.
About the AI
AI is not only the system that turns these records into prose.
It is also the thing Shug talks to throughout everyday life.
He asks it questions, argues with it, uses it to research, make decisions, build things, solve problems, and occasionally create new ones.
At the same time, AI is the editor of this record.
It is therefore simultaneously:
a character in the conversation, a recorder of events, and the editor assembling them.
AI can influence Shug's decisions.
AI can also be wrong.
When an AI mistake causes something to happen, that mistake becomes part of the story as well.
Its judgments, errors, corrections and changes of position are not outside the record.
They are events inside it.

About This Record
There is no planned final chapter.
There is no predetermined number of pages.
As long as life continues, conversations continue, and there is something worth recording, the sequence can keep growing.
A year may produce hundreds of pages.
A decade may produce thousands.
It may continue far beyond that.
The things that matter now may become irrelevant.
Things that look insignificant now may turn out to matter years later.
Projects may succeed, collapse, disappear, or return in forms nobody expected.
None of that has been decided yet.
The sequence began with N. Nobody knows where it will end.
